Quick Hits
Full circle moment for me — was in my second ever Tracksmith film, this time as the main character, not a blurry extra. I was in the Olympic Trials film they did, The Last Interval in 2021.
Bandit just started their 16-week marathon program. Worthwhile if you’re in the city and training!
Nike is making more of a move into cycling. They recently announced a new GM, Kieran Ronan, and have a team sponsorship with Visma Lease-a-Bike. Something to watch…

2026 June Paris Fashion Week Running Report
Men’s SS27 Paris Fashion Week was a just over 2 weeks ago and between the Pre Classic, World Cup happening locally, and Tour de France, there are a LOT of sports going on. Couple that with PFW overlapping TrailCon and Western States and I was quickly overwhelmed.
London Diamond League Showdowns
Leading off with some real running here. The Diamond League London meet is going to be huge. Femke vs Keely in the 800, Josh Kerr vs the field to break the world mile record. While Keely will likely be rocking her new special edition colorway of the Nike Zoom Victory, Kerr will be in a pair of newly approved Hyperion 222 protoype.
The spike was developed specifically for his race with a thick ATPU midsole for high energy return, dramatic rocker shape, and a carbon plated with custom fixed titanium spike pins.
This setup isn’t so dissimilar from Nike’s Breaking4 attempt with Faith Kipyegon, except this one is in a real race with serious competition. And better yet there are other races going on before and after.
Overall I like this setup better than Nike’s. The Diamond League is a high visibility meet, there’s real competition, and it’s in front of a home crowd (sort of).
When Collabs Get Tired
Rarely do I like dedicating a section to critique, but I thought this was noteworthy. New Balance has had some great success on the lifestyle side with their collabs, and every time they bring in CAYL, District Vision, Up There Athletics, they put out great capsules. There is synergy happening there. NB’s clean silhouettes and a key partner’s flavor of palette and materials make it.
The recent Aime Leon Dore collab was a big miss for me.
They’ve done great work in the past together on sportstyle stuff. Great layering, that insane thermal long sleeve, interesting textures.
The most recent collab for me was just not good. Without mincing words, this is super boring. The marketing video they put together was hype worthy and actually featured some real running…but the clothing this time looked like something I could get at Target in High School. 0 energy. Maybe I’m just sick of the ALD lookbook. I also feel like they really downplayed the shoes and made it secondary to all the clothing, and the clothing wasn’t special. Also the vest is $330???
Ben DeLorenzo made a great point that this would have been better launched around the NYC Marathon. Tap into that local energy.

The Eliot Ryder Is A Heater
Available now, Tracksmith’s new mileage hog is a prize.
I was so stoked when I saw this shoe initially at TRE. IMO this is their best shoe by far. The Eliot Ryder is a fully modern high stack trainer, despite the vintage camouflage. It has all the trappings of an old running shoe like a Brooks Chariot or Saucony Jazz, and looks way sleeker than the 45mm stack it holds. Drop in midsole with 25mm ATPU giving it a ton of firm spring. It’s incredibly premium feeling, all fabric detailing on the upper, stitched aglets, woven mesh and suede, and a sweet quote on the underside of the insole.
My only critique is I wish they came with sawtooth lacing, these laces are long and a double knot is absolutely required. I could also see the upper getting a bit of a weight reduction, but boy it’s comfy.
This is a great one shoe quiver for traveling - looks nice with some jeans, and can handle a 20 miler. Avail now

New Alex Zono Coming Soon
It’ll probably be difficult to get for those of you in the United States, but Zono’s new line seems to have made its way already to Up There Athletics in Australia. Up There does a lot of their own marketing for their new arrivals and really kept the spirit of the brand in mind with this happy-go-lucky friends running type shoot.
Literary Sport FW26 is Gorgeous
I want I want I want. New Literary Sport FW27. Great styling here. Blackwatch tartan and lapis lazuli blue. This translucent wind shirt. All available now on their site. Not to abuse the term, but it’s so chic. My fave are the blackwatch tartan split shorts, which maybe aren’t mens but I don’t care.
Miler Running Summer Capsule
My favorite Made in The USA running brand, Miler, just dropped their summer collection. The hallmark item is the new Pro Racing Singlet, made of this ultra light 3D stretch woven fabric. The singlet isn’t cheap at 185, and neither is the fabric that makes it, nor the labor they use here. They didn’t skimp, which is cool. Not everything needs to be priced for everyone, and it’s great to see really really nice stuff.
Raide SS26 02
Raide added a new RaceTech Tee ($149) in 63gsm micro-dot air fabric, that packs into it’s own little ice pocket, and therefore your belt. They also added a UL Shell Anorak ($349) — the lightest 3-layer fully waterproof shell on the market at 128g (size M), packs small enough to live in the LF 2L belt. Much of what they make is for a specific reason, often one Kyle encountered himself. A shell is required for UTMB trail races to be carried by athletes, and Kyle said he wished he’d brought one on a random mountain summit he did when the weather turned at the top and he was up there with just a tee shirt and shorts. Everything packs down to fit into their cargo belts—they’re thinking about everything as a system.
I love the little details here – the grid laser cut venting, the packable pocket repurposed as an ice pocket, the vented pits.
SATISFY Desert Rats Part 3 And Levi’s Collab Teaser
SATISFY teased another collab with Levi’s recently. Last time the two came together on cordura and Dyneema reinforced climbing denim, harkening back to a group of climbers in the 70s or 80s that climbed exclusively in jeans. Love the deep cut and cool to see the blend of tech and fashion for everyday clothes. In a former life, founder Brice Partouche had a denim line so full circle moment for them on the first collab. TBD what they do this year, but here are some of the pieces from last time (minus the new MothTech tee).
They also released some new colors for their summer capsule, Desert Rats. Mixing in more Grenoble Green and some short sleeve River Shirt ees with floral leather-style laser cut tooling.
Topo Pro Series Is Their Fastest Yet
At TRE, the Topo booth was swamped. They do really well at run specialty and are a successful running brand, often without much fanfare. People online are STOKED on the new Specter 3 and Specter Elite shoes coming out. They look fast. They are crazy light (I picked one up), and apparent feel really fast too based on early reviews. The shoe has their new RevFoam ATPU in the midsole, a popular high rebound foam (similar to the one in the Ryder, but likely different chemistry). It also has a more aggressive rocker in there for faster rolling at speed. For the natural toe splay and wide foot crowd, this is your new workout shoe and racer. The Specter 3 is $170 (wow?) and the racer is $250 and coming August 13.

Brand Alert: January – A New Footwear Challenger
January is a new running shoe brand founded by Wei-En Chang and Creative Director Cheryln Quan-Read.
They wanted to make a high cushion shoe without the stack, and debuted the Scignal with the first one-piece, dual density TPEE midsole. It’s super critical foam with a nylon shank, and has a very stable feel under foot despite being really light. Overall solid daily trainer. I found myself attracted to this shoe though because it just feels really premium. It’s not the fastest shoe, nor probably even the best technically in its category. But the ultralight weight, tonal mesh and suede paneling, neon pops, and 3D honeycomb tongue just come together really well. That also comes at a cost, to the tune of $195 which might scare some people away.
