Running Supply Roundup #41
On's Cloudultra Pro releases, Faith's Breaking4 Custom Nike Kit, new women's running brand Philos takes NYC, where is SATISFY for women, and more
Paris Fashion Week and Trail Con are nearly upon us which means a ton of new gear for 2026 will be announced. Pair that with the newly released On Cloudultra Pro today and SATISFY TheRocker (sometime in July?), it’s an exciting next few weeks. Ton of stuff in store today so buckle up!
Quick Hits
ICYMI last week I covered some of my most utilitarian running stuff - the things that pull more than their weight in my day to day.
Nico Young (adidas) set the American record in a star studded 5k and Roisin Willis (New Balance) rallied back to win the NCAA 800m. Willis has struggled a bit adjusting to college track/life after absolutely dominating high school.
June 19th is the last day to get your miles in for the Receipts giveaway with Near Earth! Win some socks or at least get a discount.
Sign up, sync some miles, and hopefully win a bundle.
The On Cloudultra Pro trail shoes officially releases today. I’ve given them a test drive and they are pretty sick. I’ve not tested them as extensively as they did however.
Altra and SOAR have an upcoming collab on a trail kit and shoe…more to come soon!
Last week I covered Tracksmith’s Rowing Blazers collab, the new Norda 008, 3sixteen’s latest activewear release, Receipts x Near Earth, On’s Cloudultra Pro.

Conquering UTMB - On’s Cloudultra Pro
The On Cloudultra Pro is designed with the singular goal of winning UTMB. I sat down with On Cloudultra Product Manager Sergi Jansa to talk about the all the work and research behind the Cloudultra Pro.
The design was all based around the goal of winning UTMB, which started with a simple question of “where do we win UTMB” — what are the key similarities between top performing runners? On found that the runners who were consistent across both segments, and slowed down the least (lowest delta between first half and second half splits) tended to be the fastest. Armed with that, they set out on designing a shoe made to perform long hours, and steep 15% climbs.
Visually the shoe reads more as a supershoe, not a trail shoe. This is partially because they started from scratch. On had no base model for their trail racer so spent the early years of development in 2023 making one-off prototypes in their lab in Zurich. After several rounds locally, they arrived on a suitable model that they could refine.

The upper is a beautiful parchment yellow open Leno knit — a new tecnical mesh upper that is breathable, abrasion resistant, and quick drying. The shoe also has a Speedboard™ plate—made of nylon and 15% fiberglass—but not a carbon one. On ran their studies at the same time as Salomon, and found that the carbon version resulted in higher oxygen consumption.
The key component is the sandwiched dual density Helion™ HF foam layers: one PEBAX and the other TPE. Sergi noted they almost removed the CloudTec (the cutout areas), but during testing found that it added stability; the CloudTec channels let the the foam layers collapse neutrally into the negative space, rather than squishing left or right.
The shoe is finished with a Missiongrip™ outsole which was optimized using their Finite Element Analysis modeling software, which let them test surfaces, speeds, and tread patterns programmatically.
Ultimately though, Sergi noted that the field testing had the biggest say on everything, “Data can tell you a lot, but there’s no one that’s going to be more honest than an athlete running on a shoe.” All their pros, and plenty of employees outside the project tested these out; self supported trips, UTMB, 1000s of km. The ultimate test, of course, will be on the course at UTMB.
Barely have enough room to mention, but On ALSO just released a collab with FKA Twigs as well as one with Italian streetwear store SLAM JAM.
Faith Kipyegon’s custom Nike Breaking4 Kit and Caboodle
Nike is going all out on Faith Kipyegon’s Breaking4 attempt with a custom super aero kit and spike. Her attempt is

Much like swimsuits in the mid 2000s added special trip lines to redirect the water drag for improved hydrodynamics, Nike added bumps called Aeronodes to break up the drag on her Fly Suit.
They custom designed a 3D printed TPU sports bra they’ve branded as FlyWeb. The new bra reduces water and heat retention compared to traditional tops.
Lastly, the spikes are a modified verson of the Victory 2 spikes, branded the Nike Victory Elite FK. The new shoe has a custom plate with permanent 6 titanium pins (lighter than steel) and custom Flyknit upper dropped the upper weight by 60%. The last time Nike had 6 permanent pins in a shoe was the iconic Jasari.
Bandit SS25 Delivery II
The second installation of Bandit’s Lisbon inspired capsule dropped yesterday for a member’s only pre-order. One of my ongoing critiques of the brand has been how little the marketing and story telling seems to tie into the actual product. This time that seems to be rectified as the Lisbon seaside sunsets, warm terracotta tones, and azure blues are present throughout, punctuated by mosaic tiling patterns.

As much as I am critical, especially of brands that have demonstrated their ability to make really cool stuff, I prefer highlighting when things really work! While I don’t feel particularly drawn to Lisbon or the loose story line here, the shoot looked really good, paired well with the palette of the pieces, and the inspiration actually tied into the patterns and colors used.
The standouts for me are the fluted glass like gradients on the half tights and the swirled mosaic on the new women’s tops which feature a scalloped crop top with mesh paneling.

adidas x Hermanos Koumori
adidas has been working with H.Koumouri for a few seasons and the latest collab includes a full kit with a lightweight sheer jacket, 2 pairs of shorts, socks, tees, and singlets. The collection is live on adidas.com and HK’s site as well as in person at your favorite fourth-wave running stores like Renegade.
The clothing capsule hit a bit harder for me than the shoes as I haven’t worn a pair of Ultraboosts since 2016. The Evo SL likely would have gone crazy in store and online. Maybe there’s more to come?
Where is SATISFY for Women?
This piece graced my LinkedIn feed and made its way onto r/runningfashion where I moderate. On LinkedIn it found a lot more traction, and on Reddit it was removed after some critical feedback.
The write up did a light analysis of some 40 running and activewear brands, with the hook question, “Where is SATISFY for Women?”. For SATISFY, it’s coming late this summer…but to answer the spirit of the question—aren’t there brands for women by women?
There were some glaring gaps that folks were quick to call out: Oiselle, Rytme, Mileoff, Saysh, Hettas. Likewise it’s unclear how the brands were categorized, which AColorBright did a good job of covering in their analysis made a few years ago. I’ve come documented a long list of them myself, albeit not at all women focused and excluding the lifestyle oriented brands.
has a longer piece in the works about women founded running brands and I’m excited for that!New Brands on My Radar
Schism Running also recently launched out of NYC. They have aggressive, Y2K metalhead branding that reminds me a bit of Caroline Polachek’s last album cover. So far the singlet I tested out feels good, and the branding is hard to knock.
Philos Running just launched their women’s line in NYC. All black kit with the goal of being fashion forward with flattering cuts. Not a fan of the shoes. There’s definitely a gap in the running space for a vibey women-focused brand but I don’t think it’s going to be this one.
Pop Running is a new technical sock brand based out of London. These have some minimal cushioning and a lovely dual ribbed + breathable knit knit upper similar to your standard crew (yet way more comfy). So far I’ve found them to be durable and great for my runs and rides! They’re a solid value at $48 + ship for 3 pair for US and Canada, or £35 for those of you in the UK.
Other Things of Note
Japanese trail brand Tabisuke Tabizo puts out incredible looking trail bags and just developed a few new ones. Sadly the T2 is sold out already, but here it is.

GOREWEAR just added all new lightweight shells to their venerable lineup of waterproof and windproof jackets. The CONCURVE LE4 (below) uses the new GORE-TEX ePE fabric for 3-layer waterproofing, and their regular Concurve jacket has a 3D knit fabric (second image) on the inside reducing that clammy wet feel from sweaty (or damp) jackets.
Soar and Altra have a shoe (and probably apparel) collab upcoming. I imagine this will focus on trail stuff. Altra’s been doing a great job getting collab partnerships with niche outdoors brands, and a running apparel this time makes sense.
I love the stuff that Windthrow Store puts out for their marketing. Super fun, super creative.
