Quick Hits
Local Harvard’s Sophia Gorriaran ran a 2:37.72 in the 1000m, new NCAA indoor record.
Ethan Shuley (BYU) ran No. 6 US all-time in the marathon at Osaka in full Puma kit but unsponsored. Hopefully he was part of the PROJECT3 program got the PR bonus.
3sixteen × Saucony Guide 7 collab is coming! They’re co-presenting the Jorts Mile race in LA as well. Sign up for that ASAP via Forte
One of my fave shops Up There Athletics is now a SATISFY “Authorized Dealer” and did one of those neat collab tees. I like how they’re partnering with stores this way making a merch tee out of the iconic MothTech (™)
ICYMI — Running Supply #68
Last week I covered the SATISFY/Currently Running beef, middling activewear plays, the Hylo rebrand, Ciele’s underrated material research, Norda’s KALEIDOSCOPE, ROA’s SS26 and more.
Running Supply #68
Some unSATISFYing internet beef, gripes about mid-tier millenial brands busting into running, the Denver cottage industry gains a star, Norda has leopard print, and ROA’s latest SS26.
District Vision SS26
DV’s Spring Summer 2026 collection is rolling out over the next couple weeks. The headline update are some new shades, some of which are avaialble and some are to come. They also have a striking new green label on all of their kit, which doubles as eyewear storage.
The collection also introduces technical Japanese-milled fabrics throughout. They added a Taslan nylon jacket and shorts crafted from lightweight nylon, finished with a DWR treatment for added weather resistance. Their base layer performance tee now also comes in a piqué fabric.
My fave updates though on this are the new silhouette on their sunglasses, the Momoka Pacer (bottom left) and the turquoise tortoise frame on their classic Koharu Eclipse (bottom center).
The looks throughout their lookbook while stylish are restrained and marry modern and heritage vibe alike. The slouchy socks, retro runners, and bike short (half tight) styling is casual while the top half is race ready blades.

Bandit SS 2026 is Coming
Bandit’s newest marketing takes a decidedly different approach. It’s not hype, its quiet, it’s poetic, it’s analog. I have it on good authority that their entire season was shot on 35mm and medium format film. They can do hype, they can do trendy, and now can do…real? Available Thursday at 11 EST for their members, and Friday at 11 EST for everyone else.
Call me corny but I love this sort of stuff. This is what I loved about Tracksmith’s marketing. It had a message that aligned with the grind, made you feel like they “got it” when it came to training. For me, Bandit was always a new-to-running brand, even though they’ve put a lot of their resources into sub elite athletes and have a former pro working there. That’s the audience they attracted. This messaging speaks to those runners that may have started since COVID and found the fire that I found in high school.

This capsule features new Stamina-V tech, updated half tights with dot-grid grippers, Vento Split Shorts in a better race fit and redesigned waistband, a fully updated Cadence Longline Bra, and a new race singlet with a special cooling yarn. They also added a new Specter™ fabric, which is the pigment dye tee you see in the last image below. It looks very similar to SATISFY’s Auralite pigment dye shirts, simple because it uses a similar coloring process.

Looking forward to the full evolution report. Stay tuned for their Evolution Report which breaks down all the changes, and the release itself.
Speaking of which, some people were coming after Lulu’s Tokyo capsule looking like Bandit. While it does in spirit, i feel like they’re mostly chasing trends here: textures (halftone) and gradient mesh (the turqoise and orange). The analogous color combo is striking and always works well. I think it feels in Bandit’s vein simply because it looks cool and trendy, and Bandit is always visually on the ball. They have some sick leopard print stuff coming, cue the trend report reel.
On Is Building the Cloudmonster Family
Brooks did it with the Glycerin. Nike did it with their full line, notably the Vomero and the Pegasus. On is building out a full family around a single silhouette, tiered by purpose and intensity for the Cloudmonster. Overall I think this is a good consolidation of their line. Brooks, Nike, and Saucony have a very understandable lineup, and now so will On. I find myself baffled by what’s going on at ASICS even if the shoes are good.
The regular 3 ($190) is their daily high cushion trailer using a triple layer of CloudTec with their nylon Speedboard plate inside. The Hyper ($220) is their racer, using supercritical Helion HF foam. The highest end racer is the LightSpray Cloudmonster 3 Hyper ($280), featuring that iconic 30g glove like upper, coming in at 205g. Price wise, this is a step down from the lighter (170g) Cloudboom Strike ($330) but features an illegal amount of Helion HF foam.
The Cloudmonster 3 and LightSpray Hyper launch March 5, while the Hyper comes March 19. Normally I’d expect the LightSpray stuff to be delayed, or teased early in limited quanities, but On is expanding it’s LightSpray production. It’s opening 32 fully automated LightSpray robots in South Korea, increasing capacity 30x. Invest now?1
Renegade x Nike ReCreate
Renegade Running and Nike teamed up on a Re-Create collection built around Nike deadstock, upcycling old product into new things. They even got a page on Nike.com!
Renegade founder Victor grew up in a Mexican neighborhood where segunda meant shame. This collection flips that framing and capitalizes on the momentum behind vintage and craft. “The stitched-up, patched-on clothes our mothers repaired before sending us out of the house.” This is the type of hand made stuff I’m talking about when I say perfectly imperfect. Good play by Nike.
The clothing preview features vintage Nike Athletics West, one of their pro teams, a serape blanket pattern, indigenous Mexican motifs. Feels very East LA style meets running.

New and Upcoming
Jorts Jorts Jorts
Probably few of you know this but I’m a huge jorts guy. My 29th birthday was a Jirthday Jarty. I used to lift in jorts in college until they got banned at the school gym. And then they were banned at my local YMCA. Honestly they offer a lot of support in a deep squat.
3sixteen, the NY menswear brand known for their selvedge denim is co-presenting the Jorts Mile in LA. They also have a sick Saucony Guide 7 collab coming, building off their previous trail Peregrine “Gesso” release. Andrew Chen always brings the heat on his collabs and is really thoughtful with them. This one is no different.
If you’re LA-based, hit up the jorts mile. Otherwise wait til next week to hear about their new Saucony shoe.
R.A.D® UFO — Goth Black

R.A.D dropped the UFO in “Goth Black”. This shoe was way more popular than I expected it to be, and to be fair, it’s a super fun shoe to run in. It’s not always a new brand from the gym side is met so warmly. The campaign imagery is full emo — all-black shoe, punk-rock character art, the whole bit. Running Wylder did a special release and the Exchange has a R.A.D 100 unsanctioned 100-miler as part of the launch. I love how they’ve co-opted the Nike model of partner stores and let them stores do their thing for marketing. This model gets local communities and “influencer” stores involved in marketing without making things feel forced.
Ridar Sport — Savanna + Sahari
Ridar Sport is a Seoul-based eyewear brand worth knowing. Their an IYKYK brand on the cool kids in Europe and Austrialia. Technically considered sport frames at a great price point. They brought in two new frames this season:
Savanna — These are high coverage frames and I appreciate that most of them are Photochromic, meaning they’re just as effective pre-dawn and post-dusk as they are during the day. That and they’re $120.
Sahari — lower profile and akin to the Koharu Eclipse from DV. $135 for a slightly different look though. Wide, futuristic, and anywhere from $105 to $135.

Remember Schism Running?
Schism Running dropped a new limited collection of their wild cybernetics graphics on a long sleeve. The founder is a guy from the hardcore scene as well as an artist and it shows. He pays artists for original work on these graphics, which is pretty rad for a new brand. This art gives major cyberpunk meets stranger things and while it’s not for everyone it’s certainly unique.
New Prototypes
A next-gen Nike Alphafly 4 prototype has been floating around. All-black, all business. The midsole is higher stack and the upper is a tighter, more uniform knit than what we’ve seen recently. They’ve been playing catch-up since everyone else has caught up to their supershoe. Expect this one to be even more efficient and lighter than the last. Not a drastic departure, but an upgrade.

What caught my eye was this new silhouette out of New Balance. A catchy geometric midsole, cutout arch, and slight rocker with uberlight engineered mesh upper. I bet this is a poppy ATPU midsole with a carbon plate maybe for their SC Trainer or SC Elite line.
Kiprun is making a run on the US market but has been putting out a ton of new road racing shoes. Their “KDIII” just hit World Athletics which appears to be an iteration of the KipStorm Lab.

Been looking for a new pair on sunglasses to run in as my decade old oakleys are probably on their last legs. Might take a swing at those ridar sports
