After a what-always-attempts-to-be-but-never-is-restful holidays, we’re back on schedule with the weekly roundups.

Satisfy and Nike drama
If you didn't catch it yet, Satisfy made some announcements about Nike copying their mothtech on a Running Division T-shirt. I first saw this on r/running where I moderate a community of now almost 8,000 runners! If you aren’t into reddit, still worth following along in there from time to time for more frequent posts.
My $0.02
It’s certainly a copycat, and lame of Nike to be ripping styles off a smaller brand, especially with how trigger happy they tend to be with brand related law suits. This is ultimately a great thing for Satisfy. They get great press for this, got an article in High Snobiety, and some LinkedIn engagement. Problem is they have no recourse, couldn’t afford to take Nike to court, and most people buying this tee from Nike will have never heard of Satisfy.
Annoyingly, this same sort of trickledown effect happens in couture, which is why there’s a Target knockoff of Bottega Veneta bags, and every slide looks like the ones from Y**zy. You’re not really saving that much money either…it’s $100 CAD.

Here’s whats new this week
It’s the year of the snake, so Hoka has a Snake Black pair coming soon. Below are the Mafate Three2 trail shoe.

Nike released some heat recently. They did a full NYC Armory track inspired run of their spikes, great homage.

Remember those Guy Fieri looking Nikes? Those were designed especially for the Hakone Ekiden, an iconic university marathon relay race1. Those dropped last week, and they’re now available at your local Nike store (if they didn’t already sell out). Heartbreak did an incredible video for the official release. The Alphafly’s come out on January 31st via Nike anywhere outside of Japan, but stay tuned for other stores. I love these, but I think this year I’m sticking to this stealth bomber version that just came out.
We’re already seeing some Boston Marathon merch pop up. Adidas went with a modern looking digital camo style print of the course. I kinda dig these. Right now I could only find them on Running Warehouse.

Paris Fashion Week Soon!
Paris Fashion Week is at the end of the month for menswear. Expect some news out of that with new models. Hermanos Koumori already announced that they'll be there with their Complete SS25 & FW25 line. Optimistic Runners made a similar announcement. Should be an exciting last week of January!
Collision Run Club is opening Cafe Vestaire, a hybrid cafe-running shop, in collab with Saucony EU. I’m assuming this will just be a popup for PFW.
Various new colorways
No new models, but a bunch of new colorways from the usual suspects. Some new “premium” colorways on the Nikes as well as limited edition colors for On.

Hakone Ekiden is a 2 day race relay race with 10 runners with five legs between Tokyo and Hakone each way. Each runner runs one section, and alternates with the next runner at a station. 20 universities compete.
2025 looking up. Wonder what else Paris Fashion week will bring?
2025 off to a strong start 💪 Merci for sniffing out the PFW running activations. Looking fwd to checking those out.
