Running Supply Roundup #36
South Korean Activewear, new Tracksmith, Janji goes motocross, sales in unexpected places. Loewe x On again on May 14th
Quick hits
Last week I had some commentary on the running culture, capitalism, and gatekeeping the sport. Check that out in Roundup #35.
Cocodona 250 was won by Dan Green in 58:47:18 and Rachel Entrekin in 63:50:55. Both set records in their respective men’s and women’s races. Full race recap at I Run Far
I’m absolutely loving my kit from Currently Running. No hype, all substance. The jacket feels like my favorite cycling apparel — super premium — and is something I’d wear all day. Review to come.
H&M is now copying IG running brands too. Seems like UVU’s marketing is working.
Jakub Ingebrigtsen’s Nike collection launches May 15. It’s pretty subdued and looks sharp.
What I’m wearing lately
I’ve been layering a lot of earth tones lately, despite it being spring. Even on the bike. I’ve been rocking this On x Pleasures mock neck for cooler spring temps because I’ve been on an earth tones kick. If it’s breezy enough I can wear my new fave jacket from Currently Running in a sort of olive brown, which I’ve honestly just been wearing out and about. I also was able to snag this rainbow “I Dig Running” hat!
Recent Happenings
SSENSE is sort of the evil empire, but it’s up to 50% off
SSENSE, a massive designer retailer, is running one of their largest sales of the year and there is coincidentally a lot of running stuff there from the high end brands.
has a thoughtful take on the retailer. Nevertheless, we have some larger brands on sale so I don’t feel too bad.SOAR: lot’s of singlets + jackets
Satisfy: mixed sizing left
On Running: apparel + footwear
OVER OVER: apparel, known for their cool patterns
District Vision: sunglasses, apparel
On x Loewe are back May 14th
On works with luxury brand Loewe again on their second capsule, this time with some trail ready earth tones. Very refined look to it all, if a bit subdued. Much of it feels like a logo slap, but the two teams worked together on the designs to create something separate from a simple colorway on their existing line (at least for the apparel). The upper material here is unique to the Loewe version with multilayered TPU overlays and translucent mesh.
If you have a spare $500, you can stunt on your friends (or wear these to the farmer’s market).
Tracksmith Meridian Is For The Heat
Tracksmith released its summer Meridian Collection made of their new VentAir material. VentAir is a super lightweight mesh, and the kit is designed to have a looser cut for breathability. The collection’s shorts have 8 pockets, and a shirt loop (great detail for summer!) using their signature locker loop ribbon.
Tracksmith is generally restrained with putting out net new technology and often uses the same materials in different colors or cuts. It’s good to see some innovation here from a technical standpoint on a line that feels more performance than fashion.
I dig the new photography style they used for the product here. The collection is all about heat performance, and the photos certainly feel hot. Also features new athlete, Matt Centrowitz!

South Korean Technical Wear Rocks: EOU SS25
Always some cool unique stuff coming out of South Korean activewear and technical wear brands (Post Archive Faction, CAYL, etc). EOU is a new brand that popped onto my radar and they’ve released some very cool lightweight jackets for spring summer. They have a waterproof coated nylon cordura jacket in a translucent white and gray, as well as a thermoreactive nylon windbreaker. I do fall for gimmicks like this and love the idea of sweat transforming a jacket or shirt.

Janji Goes Moto
Janji worked with one of their “Field Team” athletes, Callie Vinson, on a limited edition release of graphic tees. The two did a run of these which they bleach sprayed for a neat effect, making each shirt somewhat unique.

I reached out to Janji to get a bit more of the story. From their Chief Brand Officer, Conner Callahan:
Callie was originally thinking about doing a double Cocodona, running it back to back doing 500 miles, and was therefore playing around with the idea of Cocotona 500 (Daytona riff) which gave us the direction of doing a punchy fun moto racing vibe which Callie loved.
This lead us down the path of doing a lot of off-road desert racing style logos and text treatments that came from Callie.
She gave us a bunch of sayings like "Direction Over Speed," "Little Steps Forward" (inspired by inch worms she saw on the trail of Cocodona 2024), "That Feels Dirty I like It" and concepting the Callie Rallie Crew.
Lastly, she was really into the idea of Great Day Training Team, making it more about the journey of getting to the race than the race itself, and so we wanted to give each shirt a unique hand-touch called "Callie Effects" that makes each shirt part of the journey, cause it's not about how far you go, it's how far you've traveled to get there
CEP Makes Shoes?
Popular compression brand CEP just launched their Pro Run Omnispeed supershoe. It features a double plate (Not legal by World Athletics) and is supposed to “enhance natural mechanics” of the foot, i.e. the windlass mechanism. It has an EVA foam in the heel with a N+ TPE foam in the forefoot. At 285 grams, its one of the heavier ones on the market as well.
The shoe itself looks similar enough to other super shoes, although without thorough testing and backing from professionals I wonder what adoption will look like. Runners want a shoe they can trust on race day and aren’t probably aren’t willing to float $225 to “try it out.”

Wow, love the Janji motorsport vibe! I recently did a personal mock-up combining the worlds of motorsport and trail running—great story connection.
Would love to hear feedback if anyone tries the new Tracksmith shorts with the shirt loop. It's a niche product feature, and I’m curious whether it actually works efficiently in practice, or if people are just buying them because they went from 2 pockets to 8 pockets 😳
Thats truly a world wide round up. Appreciated 👍
